Commitment to Camper Safety

Fun Adventure is a nut-aware summer day camp committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all campers and staff. Due to the serious risks associated with nut allergies, we take reasonable precautions to reduce exposure to nuts and nut products, while recognizing that we cannot guarantee a completely nut-free environment.

Nut-Free Food Requirement

To help protect campers with allergies:

• All lunches and snacks brought from home must be nut-free
• This includes peanuts, tree nuts, and products containing nut ingredients
• Families are asked to carefully review ingredient labels before sending food to camp

Food Provided by Fun Adventure

When Fun Adventure provides food (such as pizza and juice on scheduled Pizza Days), we make reasonable efforts to select nut-free options and communicate food details in advance when possible.

Despite these precautions, families should understand that food products may be prepared in facilities that handle nuts, and that cross-contact cannot be completely eliminated.

Families of campers with severe allergies should carefully consider whether participation in Pizza Days is appropriate for their child.

Allergy Awareness & Supervision

Camp staff receive allergy awareness training, campers are reminded not to share food, eating areas are supervised, and hand-washing is encouraged before and after meals. At least one staff member on site is trained in First Aid and CPR.

Medication & Emergency Response

Camp staff do not administer medication, except in emergencies. Campers who require emergency medication (such as an EpiPen) must have it available at camp at all times. Parents or guardians must disclose all allergies during registration.

While Fun Adventure enforces a nut-aware and nut-free food policy, we cannot guarantee a completely nut-free environment. Participation in camp activities, including shared food events, involves an inherent level of risk.

Creating a safe environment requires cooperation from everyone. We appreciate the support of families in following this policy and helping us protect all campers.
